OCEAN SALT is a sea salt for ornamental aquariums with fish and invertebrates, enriched with trace elements necessary for the development of animal organisms; it recreates the seawater found in nature and in coral reefs. OCEAN SALT is a biologically balanced salt. It contains all the elements found in seawater and over 70 trace elements. Thanks to its purity, it does not contain heavy metals.

Dissolve the necessary amount of salt in water, at a temperature of 22-24° C (71-75° F), as follows: 32-35-37 g per litre of water (see table for density). To obtain optimal water quality free from chlorine and impurities, osmosis-purified water is recommended, because tap water often contains dissolved calcium, magnesium and other minerals that would be added to the levels provided by OCEAN SALT. With the help of a circulation pump, mix until the salt is completely dissolved and the water is crystal clear. This should take between 30 minutes and 2 hours. Never mix for more than 3 hours. Change the water when the pH value has stabilised at 8.0 – 8.5. Caution: When dissolving the salt in water, first pour in the water and then the salt. Otherwise, if you add the salt first and then the water, a highly concentrated solution may be created and could lead to the precipitation of some ingredients. Check the density of the water when it reaches a temperature of 25°C. For aquariums populated by fish only, a density of 1020-1024 at 25° C (77° F) is recommended, while for aquariums populated by fish and soft corals and/or SPS corals, a density of 1025 at 25°C (77° F) is recommended. We recommend a good refractometer for measuring the density of the water. If necessary, add more salt to reach the desired density. Once the salt has dissolved, we recommend changing the water within 5 days to avoid any changes in salinity. To maintain the correct salinity, we suggest keeping the container holding the prepared water closed. Before changing the water, we suggest that you always check the salinity. When setting up a new aquarium, we recommend Prodac Nitridac for new aquarium start-up, it takes 10-14 days for the aquarium to mature. For the marine aquarium to function well, at least 20% of the water needs to be changed every two/three week, adding the trace elements essential for maintaining the biological balance (e.g. PRODAC’s MARINE TRACE ELEMENTS) every time the water is changed. Never mix the salt directly in an aquarium containing fish and/or corals. Always dissolve the salt in non-toxic plastic or glass containers, without animals. Keep the package tightly closed, in a dry place, away from the light and heat sources.
